Hi all, I hope you are all well.

Thanks to Shelley for doing the blog last week.

As I am writing this, I have just seen the online BBC News article about a report from Public Health England on how people with a learning disability were affected in the first wave of the pandemic (you can click here to read the article). This is obviously very upsetting and concerning for both yourselves as families and us as at Horizons. We continue to follow Government guidance and I am also reviewing the Horizons risk assessment to see if there are any further measures that can be put in place to help keep everybody safe. Needless to say we are being vigilant around good hand hygiene, the wearing of PPE and social distancing where we can. The nature of the support needed and the understanding of some of the services users makes social distancing impossible at times. However, all the staff are committed to trying to keep everybody safe.

If you have any concerns or questions about this, please do contact me.

We are looking at being able to start offering hot meals from Monday 23rd November. I am just working through the logistics of getting the meals safely to the building, then to each bubble.

It has been another busy week at Horizons filled with activities as you can see..

Most of the service users and staff have been involved in Children in Need today which for some unknown reason seems to involve dressing up in yellow or pyjamas. However, everyone seems to have enjoyed themselves..

Take care,

**WEEKEND UPDATE** We have been informed of a confirmed Covid-19 case within our 2nd floor bubble (David’s group). We have been contacting the families affected and asking members of that bubble to self-isolate. The other bubbles at Horizons are not affected and can attend as normal but please speak to us if you have any concerns.
