Hi all, the last 2 weeks of our phased reopening seem to have really gone well. It’s been great to see all the service users back and catching up with their friends and how well they have all settled in. We also had a transition day on Wednesday with 11 potential new service users attending.
Next week we are going to be offering the same as this week, including Wednesday as another transition day. However, the week beginning Monday 28th September we will be opening fully i.e. 5 days a week 8am-5pm. We appreciate that for some families this may still be daunting, so there is no pressure for anybody to attend if they are not ready or want to continue on a phased return. Just let your key worker know. We will continue with the 4 bubbles to help minimise the risk of COVID. We will also continue to review the risk assessment on a daily basis, as well as following any new Government guidelines.
There are a couple of things I would like to bring to your attention. Firstly, please can you work with us around drop off and pickups. Although there will be an increase in numbers attending, we still need to keep to social distancing guidelines and maintain the separate bubbles, so extra time will be needed to get everybody in and out safely. Please stay in your car and ring 0161 883 2403 once you are in the car park to inform us you are here but be aware that the line may be engaged so you may need to keep trying. We will also try to have a ‘spotter’ outside to try and speed things up.
Secondly, unfortunately activities and sessions will still be limited. We will not be accessing public transport, busy areas or places we feel are unsafe, and some services and activities that we use have not yet reopened. As we go forward and we can do so safely, these activities will increase.
As always, please talk to us if you would like to discuss any concerns. I will leave you a lovely update from Kate’s group..
We’ve had a brilliant first week back at Horizons. Everyone was really pleased to be back and to see their friends.
There have been lots of changes to the building and movement of groups but everyone coped really well and has enjoyed settling in to their new rooms.
We even managed to squeeze in a spot of decorating on floor 1.
