Happy New Year from everyone at Horizons! We’re all glad to be back after the holidays and very excited at the news that our Directors have agreed to extend the age range for the young people who are already with us. John will be inviting families to a meeting very soon to go through the new developments but if you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact him on 0161 883 2403.

Our young people have got the year off to a great start. Emma’s new group have taken on the ‘trolley run’ at First Choice Homes and have been heading over to the Atrium Cafe 4 days a week to stock up before visiting the different floors in the building offering refreshments to the staff. The group are loving their new work – don’t let Jamie-Leigh’s expression in the first picture fool you, in her own words, “I’m actually enjoying this!”

Yet more of our young people are enjoying volunteering at the Dr Kershaw’s charity shop in Oldham..

2018 continues to be busy at Horizons for Jeff’s group. The young people celebrated two birthdays with lots of cake and snacks to share with their friends..

The weather hasn’t stopped them getting out and about in their community access sessions and they’ve enjoyed visiting KFC..

..and McDonalds..

They’ve managed to fit in plenty of shopping..

..and have been swimming – they stopped off for a quick snack on the walk back, of course..

Back at Medtia they enjoyed painting..

..dancing (we’re not sure what the hats are all about!)..

..and the perfect end to the week, ‘Free Choice Friday afternoons’ relaxing with a drink and a foot spa..

Hayley’s group have been braving the weather too with a lovely visit to the library with Elizabeth and Ben..

You may remember our ‘Shoga’ sessions led by Faye – a combination of Sherborne and yoga (Faye’s own invention) which our young people love..

James enjoyed his trip on the tram to Rochdale and stopped off at Morrisons to do some shopping while he was there..

..while Ellis has been out in Oldham..

..and Bilal has enjoyed listening to his favourite music..

We hope you have a wonderful week!
