The Summer holidays may have started for some but over at Horizons it has been business as usual for our young people. Hayley’s group have enjoyed lots of fun activities from baking..

Sherborne and exercises..

..to a spot of music making..

They’ve had fun celebrating 2 birthdays..

Of course the group still found time to get up to their usual messy sensory activities with shaving foam..

..and paint..

They also ventured out to Ability Wheelz in the rain and got thoroughly soaked although they assure us it was still very enjoyable! Luckily the weather was better when they had a lovely afternoon joining the students at the Learning Centre for their beach party..

Jeff’s group have been out and about whatever the weather. They took advantage of public transport to Ashton for an outing to McDonalds before heading off to Hollywood Bowl and enjoying a friendly game of bowling..

They timed their visit to the Boathouse café perfectly, not only avoiding the rain but managing to bump into yet another former New Bridge member who stopped for a chat. It’s always nice running into people who have attended New Bridge and catching up with the young people’s news..

The group had a brilliant time at Exteme Air..

..and then got stuck into preparations for welcoming the young people who will be joining Horizons over the Summer..

Emma’s group have also been keeping very busy as you can see with outings to Ability Wheelz..

..the café..

..and even the museum..

Gary’s group have been busy too. They’ve enjoyed their volunteering work, both at the Link Centre café..

..and at Dr Kershaws shop – here you can see Mollie sorting and tagging donations ready for sale and Adil carefully operating the steaming machine..

The group had a fantastic time when some young people from the NCS programme came to join them for a drama workshop – you can find out all about it here.

Our pathway students had a wonderful end to the school year as Daniel reports in his blog here. As our vocational pathways at Medtia continue to grow and the employability options for our young people increase, Daniel will be keeping you updated through the New Bridge School website from September. Don’t worry though, this blog will continue to bring you all the news from our young people at Horizons both at Medtia and the Learning Centre.
