Well, as I write this I am very excited to find out how our very first New Bridge Lottery weekly draw goes and I am crossing my fingers for a big win! At Horizons this week, Gary’s group have been helping Dan to celebrate his 20th birthday..

Shelley’s group have had a wonderful week which has included dancing..

..trips out to Alexandra Park..

..and the increasingly popular yoga sessions..

Jeff’s group have had another busy week attending Ability Wheelz..

..Oldham Library and Oldham Leisure Centre..

Naturally they managed to squeeze in a trip to McDonalds, of course..

The group also enjoyed a trip to Shaw where they visited a traditional sweet shop and stopped off at the Shay Wake for a cold drink (non-alcoholic!)..

They also enjoyed an energetic dance session..

This has been another busy week for our Future Finders. Callum W. is attending his second trial shift as a kitchen assistant on Saturday and we would all like to wish him the best of luck! Abdul has now completed his induction at the Whitegate pub and is officially on the rota. He is very much looking forward to his first pay day…and we are looking forward to a pub lunch on Abdul! Callum S. has been assisting with a number of local groups for OAPs which he hopes to continue with when he leaves us in the Summer.

Over at Bridging the Gap at Manchester Metropolitan University, we held a steering group meeting this week to look at how our students are doing and how the programme is going. I am thrilled to report back that Kyle is doing an exceptional job on his placement with the ICT technicians there. He has made such a huge impression that they are now looking at the possibility of taking him on as an apprentice. Over the past few weeks, Kyle has voluntarily stayed on until 7pm at night and he has even spent his Fridays over at the MMU campus in Crewe to assist the team with their duties over there. Well done, Kyle!

I would like to wish you all a wonderful bank holiday weekend – here’s hoping for some good weather!
