Well, as the song says, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! We are well and truly getting into the Christmas spirit here at Medtia, the decorations are up and we have been extremely busy with Christmas shows, decoration making and we’re really looking forward to next week….and Christmas dinner!

Some of Hayley’s group had a trip to see the Snowman and the Nutcracker show on Monday night which they really enjoyed..

They also had a great day out in Manchester at the Christmas markets on Wednesday..

At Horizons this week, Gary’s group have been volunteering at a local nursing home where they have been chatting to the residents and playing board games..


They also visited the Trafford Centre where they bumped into Darth Vader..


Our Horizons Helpers have been keeping very busy, they are once again putting bereavement packs together for the Royal Oldham Hospital..


..and they have also been making Christmas decorations..


Jeff’s group have been bowling in Ashton. They enjoyed their journey on the tram..

.. and then Hollywood Bowl upgraded them to the VIP lane..

Dinner at McDonalds rounded off the perfect trip..


The group didn’t let a spot of rain spoil their walk to Oldham Leisure Centre for their weekly swimming session..

They are still making sure the area around Medtia is kept in order..

..preparations for their special Christmas gifts are well underway..


..and after all that hard work they found time for a bit of well deserved Friday afternoon relaxation..


Emma and Shelley’s group have been getting in the festive spirit by creating their very own Christmas decorations and gingerbread houses..

Our Future Finders have completed their first term’s placements this week and whilst they were sad to say goodbye to their colleagues..

..they are very much looking forward to starting their new placements in January. The students have been extremely busy this week applying for jobs. Stefan is currently on a two day interview for an apprenticeship at Manchester City as a sports leader. Good luck, Stefan!


Over at the Premier Inn this week, Sam was greeted by presents to celebrate his 21st birthday..
