We have had another fantastic week at New Bridge Horizons and New Bridge Future Finders, and despite the weather we have continued to access activities out in the community.

Our Future Finders braved the rain on Tuesday and went across on the bus to the Manchester College to officially enrol onto their supported internship course. Our students were really impressed by the main campus of the biggest college in Europe! We had a lovely lunch in the college café and the students are looking forward to receiving their new student cards – mainly to get discounts in the Trafford Centre for their Christmas shopping! The young people are now officially students of the Manchester College and will be starting their placements at the brand new Oldham Community Leisure building in the next few weeks.

Over at New Bridge Horizons at the Learning Centre, our young people have now begun their weekly sessions in both our Immersive 4D Suite and also in the revamped hydrotherapy pool.

The staff and young people will be holding a coffee morning at the Learning Centre on Thursday 10th December from 10am to 12pm which is open to visitors, so please do get in touch if you would like to come along and join us.

At Horizons House, our young people have continued to access the community across Oldham, including visits to Alexandra Park for Wheels for All, Chadderton Hall Park and the Honeywell Centre Café.

This week we have been planning our Christmas meal and we have decided to take all the young people out to a local restaurant for a good old festive knees up! We will be sending home information in the next week or so.

We are expecting to sign for Medtia Square in the next week or two and will be starting transition visits next week. We are also planning to hold a meeting for parents and carers to let you know all about our plans for our new town centre campus. We will of course send out details when everything is confirmed.

Have a wonderful weekend. I shall be spending the weekend conducting the Manchester Show Choir who are performing at the Ideal Home Show although I think it could be a case of ‘singing in the rain….!’
