We are now sharing all the wonderful pictures of our young people in a new album on our Facebook page each week. Please click here to see what they have been getting up to!

David’s group have had a very busy week at Horizons..

Firstly we would like to thank Conlons, the construction company, for their help – together with the service users’ help we have turned a weed infested piece of waste land into a planting area for sensory plants and veg. Our young people have worked hard removing weeds, rubbish and stones, then helped to cover the planting areas with a ton of top soil ready for planting..

The idea is to make a small urban garden at the rear of Medtia, a place to learn, enjoy and hopfully destress. We would like to thank parents who have supported us with the tools that have helped to make this possible..

We have also set up a weather station in the garden space, this is being used by our young people to make weather forecasts which can be seen in reception daily..

The young people have also enjoyed all of their normal activities, getting out and about as usual, making the most of the glorious sunshine..

..and even fitting in a game of cricket..

They’ve enjoyed their walks into Oldham and visits to the library..

We said goodbye for a short while to Chelsea who starts her maternity leave – we wish her all the best and are looking forward to meeting the new arrival!

We will keep you up to date with our urban garden and we hope everyone has a fantastic Bank Holiday/half term!
