*** UPDATE SUNDAY 5TH APRIL ***
Please visit the government website for the latest advice on supporting your mental health during the coronavirus outbreak:
We are continuing to follow government guidance and will remain closed until further notice. Any changes to this closure will be shared with families and posted here, so please keep checking this page for any updates. Below is the latest message from John Holland:
I hope you and your families are well and keeping safe.
Firstly, thank you for your patience and understanding as we go into the 3rd week of closure. One development that you may have seen in Graham’s blog this week (please click here to read it) is that he is pushing for all New Bridge staff to be tested as soon as possible. As things move forward, this could help us open and get back to normal sooner than without the testing.
Secondly, I would like to thank all the Horizons staff. On the day that I had to tell them we had to make the decision to close, there were genuine tears from some and a real concern about how our young people and their families will cope with not having Horizons. I am still getting emails from them wanting to get back into work. Although we are closed they have been making regular contact with you and also working behind the scenes on updating care plans and session plans etc. They send their thoughts, prayers and best wishes to you all.
We have also been taking part in a ‘guess who the baby is’ contest. No prizes for guessing who was voted the ugliest…
*** iPad update ***
You have all been sent our new Remote Learning guide, our one-stop resource list for young people and staff which brings together all the apps we use at Horizons and also includes links to other resources that may be of interest to you. You can also click here to view it. If you need a reminder of any login details, please let us know.
We would like to make you all aware that we now have our very own ‘New Tube’ channel which is currently dedicated to supporting everyone with the use of iPads.
Please click on the link below to find some useful video guides created by our iPad Champions:
This channel can only be accessed by the staff and young people who are part of the New Bridge Group and you will need to log into it via your account (your “Nb password”). If you are unsure what your login details are, please ask your key worker.
If there is a particular iPad area that you would like more support in, please let us know and we will see if we can create a specific video guide to help.
We hope you find something useful!
